In the past, if you wanted to deploy your project to different regions, the process was quite cumbersome. You had to manually export your project as a Zeabur template and then import it to a new region; if your project used Volume (persistent storage), you also had to manually backup and restore data. The entire process was not only time-consuming but also prone to errors.

Now, all of this is a thing of the past.

Brand New Project Migration Experience

In the new version, we've made the entire process incredibly simple. You just need to go to your project settings page to find the new one-click project migration feature.

This feature automatically copies your entire project to any region you choose, including project architecture, environment variables, and even your Volume data. The entire process takes just a few minutes, greatly saving your time and effort.

• Projects without Volume: If your project doesn't have mounted Volume, the migration process can even achieve zero downtime, with an experience as smooth as restarting a service.
• Projects with Volume: If your project has mounted Volume, migration time depends on the data size. Our backend will automatically backup your Volume data to S3 storage and restore it to the new project, ensuring your data remains intact.

How Do We Do It?

You might be curious about how we accomplish such complex operations with just one click?

Actually, we've simply transformed all the complex manual steps from the past into an automated workflow:

1. Copy Project Architecture: We automatically create a project architecture identical to your old project in the new region and completely copy all environment variables. You just need to rebind your domain.
2. Start Services: Directly start the old project's image in the new project, with services starting almost simultaneously.
3. Migrate Volume Data: We backup and upload your old project's Volume data to S3, then automatically download and restore it in the new project, ensuring seamless data transition.

Through this automated workflow, we've condensed what used to be hours of manual operations into automated tasks completed in just a few minutes. If you don't have Volume or have small data volumes, the entire migration experience will be extremely fast, almost instantaneous.
